135mm is a good length for shooting indoor tennis. My 18-135 IS USM is at f/5.6 at that FL. Would I gain sufficient advantage with a 135mm f/2L to make buying one worthwhile?

You're gaining three stops of speed (8x the light) by making this move. If indoor tennis is something important to you then I'd say it's clearly worthwhile. You'll be able to increase shutter speed or decrease ISO significantly, leading to much better results.
