Initial assessments of D500 plus 200-500mm

Dear Colleagues

I recently acquired a D500, having previously operated my 200-500mm with a Nikon D7100 - with significant success aside from the limited buffer for bif. For me the jury is out on the D500 and I would really appreciate some objective opinions on a few preliminary photos I have submitted in aperture priority.

The Crested Barbets have been taken at a distance of 20-23 m (Exif) and the Robin at about 10 m, with no enhancements or cropping and simple conversion to JPEG; the Sacred Ibis bif pics have been cropped and mildly enhanced - beyond the Exif limit, 100 m plus?

Comments on the overall quality and sharpness would be welcom, taking cognisance of the distances involved. A friend has commented that iso noise on the Robin (auto iso; set to 1600 and 1/2500, but the light limited the shutter speed to 1/320 s) is somewhat high... Do you agree...?

Many thanks in advance for your inputs and please forgive the relative lack of skill on the part of the photographer...!:-)

Kind regards

Ted
