Help with MD 24f2.8 sharpness

Hi guys,

I recently bought a copy of the Minolta MC 24 f2.8 but am not quite happy with the result. Allegedly it is one of Minoltas sharpest lenses, which was even "copied"/licensed by Leitz. It is said to have excellent sharpness, even in the corners, but on my Sony a6500 it produces really soft corners when compared to other lenses.

Could you please take a look at my pictures and tell me if this is what you expect from this lens, or whether I seem to have picked a weak example?

The shots are:

1) Minolta MC24f2.8

2) Sony SEL1670Z @24mm

3) Sony SEL20f2.8

All are 100% corner crops taken at ISO 100 1/800s @5.6.

If you look at the shadow of the curtain, you can see the difference quite clearly, I think.

1) Minolta MC 24f2.8 1/800s f5.6 ISO 100

2) Sony SEL1670Z @24mm 1/800s f5.6 ISO 100

3) Sony SEL20f2.8 1/800s f5.6 ISO 100
