Re: Second camera: What are my options?

Given that, I have also considered getting a DMC-G7 (used) + E-M5.2's since the G7 is considered one of the best video camera, but the budget of getting another IS lens for the DMC-G7 doesn't justify its price. Technically speaking, the video camera may as well just be sitting on the tripod at all times, so IS could be less of a priority.

The obvious choice seems to be getting a DMC-G85/80/8 (It's DMC-G8 here in Japan). However, I'm frankly not quite sure if this camera is the right choice given I have already invested so much in the olly lenses. From comments and reading, this particular model also seems to have some issues with olly lenses like the 12-100mm f2.8. There is also a youtuber who said he returned it because of the microphone noise.

Most of your OLY lenses should be fine, I used a 12-50 yesterday for a video.  The pana lenses can be better than oly ones for certain tasks, but that wont stop you doing video with it. You can hook a mic to that if you need to.

All in all, what are my options? Should I wait for the E-M10.3 or should I just hit the nail with the DMC-G8? Given that all of them use a 16MP sensor, perhaps it might be a very big upgrade from E-M10.1 to any of these other options.

for video you really wont be ysing all of the MP's  I would be more concern of other features or overall quality.

TLDR: I'm looking for a m43 camera that I could potentially call it as an upgrade from my E-M10.1 and has decent video recording capabilities, preferably without the 29 minutes recording limit (but, I guess I could just live with it...).

gh4 may be unlimited the gh5 definitely is for video time.
