May I ask you if, according to you, a DP1s or a DP1x has the same 'colour signature' as the original DP1...? I'm under the impression that they share the same sensor, but I'm not sure, and the sensor is not everything... Moreover, to make things even more unclear in my mind, I'm confused by the analog front-end (AFE) - I don't know for sure when it was introduced, and this can surely deeply change things, even with the same sensor.

I greatly appreciate any hint you could provide.

DP1 and DP1s are almost the same, differening only in some filter to fix the red dot problem (when shooting directly in the sun)

DP1x has a new image processor (the same as the DP2 series), so the color signature should be similar to the DP2 series.

Within the DP2 series there are small nuances, e.g the original DP2 suffers from magenta-green color casts across the frame (visible on white surfaces such as walls), which is fixed in the DP2s.

I have summarised my finding concerning the differences between DP2 and DP2s here if you are interested:

so to answer your question, I believe the overall color signature of the DP1x, DP2, DP2s, DP2x is the same, but that of the DP1 and DP1s is different due to different internal processor.

Thank you very much for your reply and explanations, @allineedislight, and thank you also for providing a link to one of your previous related posts - this is much helpful.

I definitely 'need' to get a DP1 or, even better, a DP1s to see by myself this much praised 'colour signature' and how it compares to the DP1M's one...

Thanks again.
