T2i to T7i - Help a longtime lurker and general noob

Hi there.

I've been browsing this site for 15 years, but I hardly ever buy anything. I guess I have the opposite of GAS--I'm one cheap b**tard [they actually censored that!].

In 2010 I took a trip and I bought the T2i, the Canon 15-85, and the Canon 50 1.8. I haven't bought anything since, and I've generally been happy with all of that, though the 15-85 isn't great in low light and I haven't found ramping up the ISO to be enticing.

I do not care at all about shooting speed, video, or much of anything else except IQ. (Including low light, to the extent possible with entry-level gear like this.)

So here it is 7 years later, and I am planning another trip this summer. I am therefore agonizing over upgrading to the T7i. But, real talk, am I actually going to get much out of that with regard to IQ and high iso? (I'm not interested in marginal gains.)

It's not clear to me if the T7i sensor is any better. I do realize AF has gotten a bit more advanced and continuous shooting has improved, but I don't care about that.  (I do portraits/landscapes exclusively.)

TLDR: is it worth upgrading from T2i to T7i solely based on IQ and usable ISO? [I realize this is subjective, but I am soliciting opinions here.]

Thank you for your time.
