Real world implication of t5i's dynamic range?

I've had my eye on a t5i for a while now. It has the features I want, the menus make sense to me, and right now the price is right. But I'm hung up on one thing: DPR's comments on its dynamic range being behind its pears (DXO puts it over two stops lower than current Nikons).

Am I going to take a photo of a sunset and be disappointed with a flat image? If I mess around with wide field astro will I get a noise filled sky?

In other words, whats the "real world" implication?
