X100F issue @F2 when shooting highlights
1

Hello,

I notice an issue on my brand new X100F.
I see weird highlights patterns @F2, which are not there @F2.2 around the highlights. There is a linear flare @F2.2, and just weird diffraction/dispersion or more exactly patterns as I would call them @F2.

Settings: AF-C, Auto ISO, F2 1/60 1600ISO (Photo with ISSUE, _DSF3657.jpg), and F2.2 1/60 2500ISO (PHOTO OK, _DSF3658.jpg). There is no filters what so ever, images are raw converted jpg, and there is no effect in the camera either. Issue seems to be @F2 only, not @F2.2.

Watch Photos below.

I think it is really annoying when you want to shoot concert, in S mode, because the aperture will very often be F2.0, and then you will get this very annoying effect. I least I would like a setting to limit the aperture to F2.2 when set to Automatic for the aperture, to avoid to get this highlight patterns on all images.

I have other pictures with same ugly patterns see below:

Questions:
Do other X100F owners get the same issue?
Is this a real issue with my camera only?
Is this something firmware update can fix?

Bill
