Re: why not Nikon? - a very good question

well, out of these four of my choice I'd certainly place the Oly last!! Also lets make some changes towards more stringent conditions, so no one could say that the scene was rigged or made too lenient.
Why the change in cam choices and settings? Because:
- I'm glad of your ISO level choice, as the "stupid high" ISO 25600 is actually only two steps up from 6400; and in my book two steps of shadows-pulling up in PP isn't something that we encounter only very rarely in the real life wildlife chasing under dark forest canopy overhead;
Then why aren't you shooting with Nikon instead of Canon?
your last question merits a response, although it is very much OT here. So, why not (I'm assuming that by 'Nikon' you can't be meaning their grave [and predictable] mistake to go with the 2.7x crop, as it is even worse than the 2x crop):
- the long, long awaited D500 is an excellent action shooting APS-C: good sensor, a superb AF'ing in toughest situations - amazing;
- yet for me personally it is burdened with three obstacles: {i} their UI and controls (as an EOS user since 1989 I find theirs now as part of my muscle memory), {ii} it can't mount the EF glass - and this is pretty serious if one's gear cabinet is full of such excellent glass, {iii} the heft and bulk of the D500 is about the same as that of the 7d2 - yet another top APS-C auto-focuser for fast, dynamic action shooting.
The point about heft and bulk... is vitally crucial. Unfortunately mine long wait for the M-line to deliver something about as good as the D500/7d2, or as Samsung's NX1, or recently as Sony's a6500 or a9, was so far a lesson in a series of bitter disappointments.
So what else can be done for point {ii} EF glass shooters?
There are only two other options [while awaiting for a finally-top-action MILC in eos-M], both available with adapting EF through Metabones/Conurus - the only smart AF'ing devices allowing close to native action performance:
- the m4/3 (not for me due to those 2x crop sensors, but others are using them for driving the EF lenses and are reporting their satisfied results);
- also, many top m4/3 bodies are infected with seize-elephantiasis and are now about as large as DSLRs ...esp. relative to the sensor's size;
- or Sony - either with their APS-C MILCs, which are all significantly smaller than e.g. M5, yet sporting a built-in 2.4Mpx OLED EVF;
- or even a whole assortment of various FE-mount full-frame MILCs: seven actually, each about as only large as the M5;
- same capable of passable/good action shooting performance ;
- the jury is still out on the a9 + MB-IV or MB-V with EF, but I'd not be surprised should such combo will yield an action shooting experience on a pretty high levels;
