Pen F viewfinder and flippy out screen

You just have to decide if the dial risk is worth it to you. My personal experience is that dial failure is 100% guaranteed. YMMV.

In my case E-P5 #1 failed when fairly new and on a holiday, went back to E-PL1 button pressing mode and survived. Fixed when home again under warranty and no further issues.

With E-P5 #2 no failure, no hint so far.

Both bodies used heavily on various holidays to prove the dial repair and the state of the good one.

So for me, 50% failure rate and 100% fixed under warranty. The warranty fix did replace the top plate and I knew that because I lost my custom dial top and had to make it anew.

I could afford to buy Pen-F but see no need. The negatives for me are the viewfinder as I don't use them any more, and the major negative would be that flippy out sideways screen.

Hey Guy,

The EVF on the Pen is a major reason I bought it! But you know that. I also know you don't give a hoot about using an EVF. I will say that the Pen F fully articulated LCD on the rear is a royal pain. I live with it quietly, though, because I like the OLED EVF so much. And, I look so retro carrying around my Pen F; Mr. Cool.
