Returned D500 and sigma 18-35 1.8

Well, I have to take everything I said back and SaltLakeGuy was right, the AF in the D500 is a hype.
First, the reason why I returned the sigma lens is not because is bad optically, it is a great lens and SHARP wide open. It just has bad AF performance. I was using this combo and everything was working perfectly fine, and to make it really really short, that lens started front focusing all of the sudden simply because I started shooting under some artificial lights in my kids school auditorium (really weird behavior) and some folks told me that it was also because I was using the outer side AF points in the D500, which I was, and that lens behavior is "normal" when you do that. It was a major disappointment when I learned that. This are things that you really don't learn right away by renting gear and I'm glad I used this combo for a few weeks. This discovery actually happened by accident.
So then my wife and I talked about it and the only option was to get the nikon 17-55 2.8, which it has excellent AF and I know because I owned it before. Fast and accurate AF, but that lens is even bigger and heavier than the sigma, so we both looked at each other and said no, there is no point in doing this to jump into a 2.8, because fuji has the smaller lighter 16-55 2.8, so it made zero sense to stay with nikon APS-C.
When SaltLakeGuy said that the AF in the D500 was a hype and not as good as the XT2, well, he kind of is right. I did some very simple AF comparison with all my lenses in my office with the lights turned off, but I did open the door just to get a little natural light in just for me to be able to see something, so basically I was not in complete darkness, and the D500 would not lock on focus on several objects I was pointing at. I was very surprised at that. Since I had returned the XT2 I don't have it, but even my XT1 locks on focus with the bigger AF sqare. That I was not expecting. I thought the D500 could focus at -4EV or something?
Color output from the nikon? Well is not the same compared to my XT1. I shot with both D500 and XT1 at my kid's end of the school year play and although D500 is very nice and very very clean, the color output is more flat, unlike fuji whose color output simply POPS right away. Can't compare them man. My wife told me how amazing and lovely the fuji files are when it comes to color. Then again i already knew that.
Anyway, I just thought of posting this info here just in case it might help someone. I will simply continue shooting with my existing gear for now.
