I've used OpTech straps since.... hmmm.... not sure, but at least 25 years, and have never had an issue with a fastex clip coming undone. Optech sells a velcro keeper to put around buckles (goes around both buckles lengthwise, through the webbing opening of each. I can't find it on their online catalog right now as I'm not sure what it's called, but pretty much any velcro strap with hook on one side and loop on the other and no wider than the webbing openings should work - and will be strong as velcro is very strong in shear. I guess there are people paranoid enough about this that OpTech sells 'em - but I never saw the point.
