When comparing kit zooms, remember that the Fuji XF18-55 is f2.8 to f4 instead of f3.5-f5.6.

Good point.

When it comes to a moderate zoom lens that's included as part of a kit (for many Fuji cameras) it's hard to beat the Fuji 18-55 lens.

There's simply not another 18-55mm lens that can compete with it.

Naturally, it is a little bigger and heavier than other "kit" lenses.

It bears mentioning that Fuji's cheaper and lighter XC16-50 kit zoom has close to the same excellent IQ of the 18-55; the tradeoff for a smaller and lighter lens is the plastic body and no aperture ring on the lens. Neither is as small as the Canon kit zoom on the M5 and 6 I played with this past weekend. Canon has the lens size advantage with its EF-M lenses, but you can compare for yourself on camera size.com.
