Nikkor 200-500 vs 300 f/4 + TC

I have the 200-500mm, and it's a great lens.  The things I'm not fond of are the size, weight and f/5.6.

I'm wondering how the 300 f/4 VR would compare.  I'd mostly be using it on a D500, so equivalent length would be 450mm.  I like shooting wildlife and birding, so that's still a bit short.  Adding a 1.4 TC would put me at 630mm, right?  This is better, but it's still shorter than the 750mm eq. I'm getting now.

So I guess the question is, which is better as far as IQ?

750mm eq. from the 200-500 at f/5.6 or

630mm eq from the 300 + 1.4TC (I'd also be at f/5.6, correct?)

My main concern is keeping ISO low (especially when using fast shutter speeds), so using the f/4 lens naked would be great, but then I take a hit on reach.
