It Depends...

Are you just going to buy the kit lens? Then buy the M6, or M5 is you'd want a viewfinder.

Or do you plan on/see yourself buying more lenses down the road? If so, buy the X-T20.

As a current user of both the M5 and X-T10 (which is a great deal, look into that as well), they both have their pros and cons.

Fuji: Pros- Better native lens MOUNT selection, receives more software updates, better EVF (IMO), 4K, and alot of AF points. Cons- X-Trans Sensor, ergonomics, U.I., implementation of touchsreen, buffer size.

Canon: Pros- Ergonomics, cheap lenses, access to EF/EFS lenses (although you don't have any), touchscreen, U.I., DPAF, cost of batteries, better over-all AF (IMO). Cons- Slightly overpriced compared to the Fuji, no film-sim, buffer size.

Out of the 2, I reach for the Fuji when I shoot with primes, but for legacy glass and zooms, I reach for my M5. But in all honesty, you'll most likely see me with my X-Pro1 and 35 1.4.
