Decentered 10-18, How's your copy?

I took possession of a used 10-18 this week and after some test shots it's become apparent that the lens is decentered at 18mm. The decentering gradually fades as you zoom out and by 10mm it's not detectable in most images. However, at 18 it's rather apparent.

Here's some samples:

If I put the focus point on the left side of the frame I can get it to clear up but the rest of the image is pretty dismal:

The lens is pretty usable in the 10-14 range, FWIW.

I've seen other comments saying that some decentering on this lens is typical, which is why I want to ask others how good your copy is.  Do you see anything that comes close to this? To me this is unacceptable so, I'll be sending it back, but I'd like to find another copy in the coming weeks as I have a couple of big vacations this year where I'd benefit from having this lens.
