With camera shutter the hard part to make it last extremely long is to keep good maintenance on it. Do Nikon/Canon service add lubricant on it? I don't think regular users can do something like that.

For cars, if the owner check it regularly/ frequently and change oil and do not abuse it, it's easy to make it run big mileages if the engine is a decent one.

A one million count shutter would be amazing and the camera company should buy it back with big bucks.
