Dial failure can happen. My black E-P5 dials failed on a holiday, slowly went from occasional misses to completely inert. Solved that by reverting to E-PL1 style of button only mode of operation. Later fixed under warranty and used extensively since with no problems.

Not long after bought a silver E-P5 and its dials have always been good, used a lot  and still good. So dial failure isn't inevitable, it just may be component batch related.

I bought two E-P5 bodies as I decided to upgrade from my pair of E-PL5 bodies. At the time of purchase both the E-P5 had dropped below the E-PL5 price so it made sense.

As mentioned many times, the E-P5 is good enough for me and nothing since has raised any interest at all in me.

Regards.... Guy
