SX50hs getting old??

I sold a new SX60 when a refurbished SX50 come up on Canon's site at 1/2 the cost of the 60.  Only 2 years old it has recently shown more blowing out of whites.  Always shot  with -1/3 EV on all my SZs but now I must call up -2/3 in semi bright conditions to get ANY white detail.  A full -1 if in bright sun.  It simply seems to be getting more so.

I shoot a lot of cargo ships that have a dark hull and most having a white pilot house.  I use the smaller green box and try to center that on the white area for exposure and focus.  I know these cameras have a narrow exposure tolerance but it does seem to be getting somewhat worse.  Anyone else with an SX50 having the same deteriorating exposure problem?  Seems like it could be a sensor issue or it just may be an overactive imagination.
