Re: Capture NX-D -> PS

You're absolutely right. This has nothing to do with that issue.

I don't think you really understood his post. He opened in NX-D, did his processing and then exported the image as a TIFF file. They should look the same, but they don't.

D-Lighting, Picture Controls, etc. have nothing to do with it.

Photoshop Camera Raw can not read the D-Lighting setting from a NEF File. You will have always a different look when opening a File in PS or Lightroom.

The only solution is, deactivate all the Nikon NEF specific settings like Active D-Lighting, Long exposure NR, High ISO NR, Vignetting control, Auto distortion control and set the Picture Control to Standart with all Faders on 0.

You do loose some really cool features of the D5, D4, D810 etc....It's sad that Adobe PS and LR cannot read out these Parameters, although it's Nikon's decision to not share or open these file information to third party software.

If you do so, and set in Camera Raw on Camera Standart but not Adobe Standart, you gonna have pretty much the same file look as it is on the D5 etc or in Photomechanic if you use them.
