According to this post https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/59448230 it is possible to adjust the Tamron 70-200USD at both ends. Difference in firmware perhaps ?

Peter

I got my A99ii this past Tueday, and mine allows me to MFA the wide and the tele end. This is also true for all my Minolta zooms. List as follow.

Konica Minolta 17-35 F2.8 F4.5

Minolta 28-135 F4-4.5

Minolta 70-210 F4

Minolta 24-50 F4

Minolta 35-70 f4

Minolta 100-300 APO

Minolta 100-200 F4-4.5

Great that it works with the Minoltas. But your Tamron is a strange case, because here is another post that claims MFA only works on the wide end with the Tamron 70-200: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/59453998

I wonder what is the cause of this discrepancy...

I bought my Tamron in December 2016. I know that some early Tamron's 24-70 did not activated the Hybrid points on the original A99, and later copies do, apparently some update on latest versions. Probably the same for the 70-200. Before some one ask,  my 70-200 does not activate the Hybrid focus, but MFA does have effects on it.
