It used to be that...

....most browsers couldn't handle the additional colors (and richness) of the Adobe RGB color profile.  Thus, if you posted an Adobe RGB image to the web, the colors would actually look muted.

However, most - if not all - browsers now have color management and can render those colors.  I know that within the Firefox based browsers (which use) you can enter settings using the special menu - read below:

Sorry for all of the links.  But yes, the latest versions of Firefox based browsers (i.e. Firefox, Cyberfox, Pale Moon,  and Waterfox) "should" already be set for color profiling.  However, if they aren't, you can enter the adjustments shown above.

I just love the richness of Adobe RGB 1998 color profiled images and to me, there is a night and day difference in richness and depth to the images when using the Adobe profile.  But hey, others may prefer just the regular RGB version.
