In truth, it's proven a bit awkward to use... but it was built as a prototype and is described in Frameless representation and manipulation of image data. Well, technically, the paper discusses the first prototype and the one in the photo earlier is the second prototype, but it's the same idea.

We now have found it sufficient to process a single high-speed video stream, as per TIK: a time domain continuous imaginge testbed using conventional still images and video. For example, using a Sony RX100IV is much easier than using the FourSee and it is not clear that IQ suffers significantly.
