When you touch the AF button on the screen the camera performs a single AF (GH4/GX80) and what I noticed that this appears to be faster than other methods while recording video. Focus jumps rather than crawls to the new focus point (relatively speaking). I found this quite exciting....:-)

In video recording it is not good looking when the auto focus works too quickly. When I use half shutter autofocusing (AFS) in video with my GH4 the autofocusing is still too fast and looks sometimes ugly. The touch focus (touching focus box) is slower and better looking.

4k auto focusing in general is slow and some times unreliable. My GH4 reacts quite slowly when I half press for new autofocus. It may think few seconds before it moves and when it moves it does it ugly. It depends on lenses too.

I think it is difficult to touch screen AF-symbol without shaking the camera during recording. Shutter half press is more stable. Also it is impossible to touch AF-symbol if watching through EVF.
