Hello,

I noticed today that my eyepiece on my Canon M5, the right side, is coming loose. Does anyone know if the eyepiece on the M5 is designed to be removed, and possibly replaced?

On my 5D Mark III it pops off and easily back on but that does not seem like the case here.

Thanks for your help!

if you're talking about the little rubber pad on the VF it looks like can be removed

Hello Beagle1, yes it is the rubber pad. I tried playing with it to remove it but could not and did not want to risk breaking it. Were you able to remove your rubber cover from the VF?

Thanks!

Yes, it is removable. Same as it is on all of the Canon DSLRs (and most SLRs I presume). It removes by sliding up. It is this way to enable VF accessories such as right-angle finders, etc, to be mounted.

Eric

There is no ribbed lines on the side to indicate that you press in that spot to squeeze which releases the tabs in order for you to lift up. Also, the viewfinder is different from DSLRs. The viewfinder is smaller and there are no VF accessories that would allow you to mount them.
