Uh, no, it's not medium format in any way. The sensor is 1/4 the size of medium format. What it is, is an APS-C camera with a novel sensor that progressively blocks light in order to claim better per-pixel sharpness at the expense of steeply rising image noise. Goodnight!

Even I can tell that the OP doesn't mean that it literally is medium format. It's actually impossible that he meant that, and you must know that, so your retort is malicious.

We both know he is saying that you get something of digital medium format for £739.

Is that still 'frankly daft'? Let's see what current Chief of Strategy at Hasselblad (and former Hasselblad Ambassador), Ming Thein, said when he reviewed the dp2 Quattro: "....my printmaster Wesley Wong is a big fan of the Sigma cameras.... at the pixel level quality of the files, there is a good reason for this: under optimal conditions, these cameras put out some of the purest and highest-acuity pixels I’ve ever seen. They can go head to head with any medium format digital camera...". He then went on to describe other IQ deficiencies, but the above quote certainly says you get something of digital medium format for £739.

And the sd Quattro IQ is much improved on the original dp2 Quattro files that SPP produced in early 2015 for Ming Thein to evaluate. Same resolution though.
