Purple fringing comes from the lens, not the camera. It can be more or less pronounced, the D500 has more pixel density than the D800 so it is normal that you observe more fringing on the D500 at 100 % crop.

Usually lenses that were designed before numerical photography were not designed to avoid fringing; it is also amplified by the use of teleconverter. I assume that you use the 300 f4 with a 1,7 TC so the result. With a modern lens you'll not have that, instead there are options in post processing (lightroom) to remove it.
