Yes a quick and dirty test would be to put a printed page - maybe a newspaper on a flat surface and photograph it at an angle - get the focus point at about the middle point.

You would be looking for the print to be perfectly in focus at that half way point and progressively out of focus nearer and further away.

Make sure there is plenty of light and try a couple of different apertures and keep the shutter speed high enough to eliminate shake.
