Both shot at night with poor light, and now same shutter speed of 1/100. I would say whoever says the difference is night and day,, would be exaggerating. Yes there is difference,, but I wouldnt say by that much. ( i do realise that im limited with a kit lense)

No, the difference isn't night and day but clearly the D5600 has much better dynamic range and detail.

With Nikon DSLRs, shooting in raw with always result with a lot more detail. The in camera JPEG engine is a little bit too aggressive with the noise cancellation, hence less detail. Try shooting your lens cap, in raw and JPEG and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I understand shooting in RAW will provide me with alot more data and im sure I will use it when needed (on photos that I want perfected). But im hoping I can first get sharp JPG's somehow. Also, Ive turned off noise reduction on the D5600.
