D5??? + 18-55....Confused.
If you want the convenience of touch screen, then D5500 or D5600.
D5500 is usually bundled with DX AF-S 18-55mm VR II kit lens, which is optically very good and better than previous versions. The down side is noisy when auto focusing, not good for video.
D5600 is usually bundled with DX AF-P 18-55mm VR kit lens, which is the latest and greatest. Based on information on internet, optically it should be similar as the AF-S VRII (or even better?), and it autofocus silently and lightening fast, even in Live View (when using LCD) mode.
D5600+AF-P kit lens cost $100 more than D5500+AF-S VRII kit lens in the US.
Personally, I would spend more to get D5600+AF-P lens for the superior autofocus performance.
