Auto fine tune focus D500
So I had some time, and I thought I'd give the auto fine tune thing a try on my D500. I used it with a 200-400 f4, a 200-500 f5.6, and the original Tamron 160-600. Using the exact same setup for all three, the 200-400 was a breeze, only requiring a manual adjustment of 1 point after the AFT. The 200-500 was a little more work, but got there eventually. The 150-600 was all over the map, with the final adjustment being my best guess. Just thought it was interesting that, for me at least, the usefulness of AFT was directly proportional to the quality of the lens. I ended up giving the 150-600 to my future son-in-law, who is just getting into bird and nature photography.
