Star-Eater Effect on Sony Full Frame A7 Series - Does it Apply to the A99ii

SAR reports an Astrophotography bug in the A7 series cameras. see:

I plan to purchase a wide angle fast lens to get into astrophotography with my A99ii and was wondering if any one on this forum has experienced this problem on the A99ii. If so are there any practical workarounds that were found?

It seems according to this report the 'star-eater' effect occurs with bulb exposures greater than four seconds. Apparently Sony has generated an algorithm that views a small star as a hot pixel and modifies the raw file to correct for it.
