Editing 42mp files

Hey there. New a7rii owner. Late to the party as always.

I have a few year old PC. i5, 16 g RAM, 256 gb SSD for OS, two optical storage, a low end video card. It seemed to churn through 24mp files pretty easily. Obviously slowing down if the stacking or stitching becoming excessive.

The new single 42 uncompressed files processed noticably slower. I did my first 21 image HDR 3 shot panorama. It took my desktop forever to combine the images...........any tips or suggestions? I do not intend to stitch more than about 5 images or so in the future.........for now

Turn off compression? I know it is very fine margins that probably wouldn't even show up in the landscapes that this is mostly aimed at

More RAM? Better video card? It was a mid level card 5 years ago so fairly ancient. Renders are slow but I can live with that. I am not doing a large volume of shots.
