Re: Changing F stops on the XC 16-50

Sorry for my ignorance as I'm new to these newest digital mirrorless cameras though not to photography (I shot with Nikon 35mm and medium format cameras for decades). I'm about to order the T-20 with either the XC 16-50 or the XF 18-55 - my personal preference is the 16-50 for the 24 mm equivalent fov. My question is: if the 16-50 doesn't even have an aperture ring and I notice there is no aperture dial on top, how do you change apertures? Can you set the rear R-dial to do this? There must be some way to do this. Again, sorry for not understanding this - I have read and read all the posts and did not find the answer. Thank you.

Ken

I have a X-T10 with the 18-55 but went with the 16-50 when I bought the X-T20.  I do a lot of landscape and long days of travel the weight difference becomes significant.  I'm choosing which one to keep and which one to sell with the X-T10.  Leaning towards keeping the 16-50 and funding a couple primes with the sale.  I understand why someone might prefer either lens.  At $100 over body only, I figured I'd try out an XC lens.

If there is no ring, the aperture is usually set with the front dial but I'm pretty sure you can set it to either dial if you prefer.
