I've had a chance to work out the EVs at which my darkest posted Casio ZR800 shots were taken compared with my darkest Panasonic LX7 shots, and find they were at EV2! Though the Casio shots were at higher ISO settings, it encourages me to rely more on the Casio - though I certainly will not get rid of the LX7 anytime soon.

But It would not have been able to zoom close enough to capture video of the stage show as well as the Casio did. Alternatively, carrying a shoulder bag to swap between both cameras would have been a nuisance: there's a choice to be made between recording events 'for family, friends and posterity', and relaxing to enjoy the evening.
