In any event - the SD1m doesn't have DNG anyway, so you're good. A Macbook should also be large enough screen-wise to make SCPro usable on a screen.
But, I suspect if you want to see what you're shooting you will have to add a monitor. $49 lcd tv from Amazon should do.
