One problem is the battery level indicator does not function, if that was a big deal to you(it is to me) than you'll need the canon batteries.

I use the 3rd party batteries as back ups.

I use my 600d with a no name battery grip and Chinese batteries and though the 600d gives no errors it is true the battery level indicator does not work so I always make sure I have 2 extra batteries or 6 AA penlights and the adapter so i don't have an unexpected blackout.
