SD1M battery draining in camera when OFF

I did a Search and found some info dated back in 2012 - noted this reply:

If it is set to channel 1,2,or 3 the camera will not shut down.

I only use the camera on Manual and always turn it off after taking any shots but the battery - any one, original and replacements - just drain seemingly overnight. If I remove the battery, I then find next day (or even an hour or so later) the Date/Time have reverted to the 2011 (presumably the Default) setting.

The same batteries used in my SD14 show no such problems. I can - and have done - left them in-camera for even several weeks without them draining. In addition, if the battery is removed from the SD14 the date/ time remain as set.

Any updated thoughts or advice please. Ta .... ever so ... Ta! Note the Firmware is the latest 1.09 and just to recap - I don't use any auto setting - including manually focusing lenses with AF off. Setting is also for camera to go OFF in 1 minute.  No problems as such when using camera in sense battery (all 4 I have) works fine.
