Re: How many different cameras are you using?

Nikon D610, Sony A7, Sony A6000, Pentax K-5ii and Oly Pen-F. I use all of them pretty regularly on equal time. I often go out for a fun day of shooting with a dslr and a milc in one bag and just one lens for each. Also when I travel overseas, usually 2 lenses for each. A WA prime, a fast prime, a tele zoom and a macro prime.

My favorite is the Pentax though it is the oldest, cheapest and fewest pixels . I'll probably get a KP next but will never get rid of the K-5ii. The Sonys are bland but light weight and they don't give me a desire at this moment to upgrade to newer editions. The Oly and Pentax have the most character - you can really feel their decades of photographic tradition when you use them. Just the details. I like the files and IQ of the D610 best and will probably replace it with a D810 when the new D810 replacement arrives and used prices drop. But it feels more like a tool than anything and I am not emotionally attached to it. Somehow the Pentax and Oly just feel more fun to use, maybe also because their lenses have more character in the rendering. And the Pen-f has a body that's irresistibly pretty. I'm tempted of getting an EPL8 for the same reason. I gave my EP-5 to my nephew when the even prettier Pen-f arrived.

I used to take lots of smartphone photos when I had my first phone that had what I considered a decent camera, the SG4. But I grew tired of the novelty aspect and can't even remember the last time I used my current phone as a camera.
