4 main cameras, 5 special purpose, 4 used occasionally, 9 no longer used
Lets see, the 4 cameras I shoot with on a normal basis now:
- Olympus E-M1 mark I (1,118 pictures in my albums, bought in 2016). I bought it on an Olympus sale primarily to replace the E-5 in shooting the 50-200mm lens.
- Panasonic G85 (166 pictures in my albums, bought in November 2016). I bought this for the OLED viewfinder for a Hawaiian vacation, now it alternates with my E-M1 as the main camera).
- Olympus Stylus1 (2,180 pictures in my albums, bought in February 2014). This is great little camera that I can put in a jacket pocket when I don't carry the big gear.
- Samsung S5 cell phone camera (31 pictures in my album, bought in 2016). Sometimes a photo op comes up and you aren't carrying any other gear.
5 cameras are still used in special cases:
- Olympus E-M5 mark I (2,853 pictures in my albums, bought in February 2014). This was my 2nd camera until I got the G85, now occasionally 3rd camera with 3rd lens when shooting).
- Olympus E-PM2 (793 pictures in my albums, bought in 2012). Now primarily used in a steampunk prop (camera in cigar box made to look like a 1930's bellows camera).
- Olympus E-P2 (2,591 pictures in my albums, bought in November 2009). I use this when I take out the Kodak Pony Premo 5x7 body with the E-P2 inside.
- Olympus TG-860 (26 pictures in my albums, bought in 2016). I use this for radio controlled bird/squirrel photos at feeder.
- Olympus TG-2 (594 pictures, bought in 2013). I use this built into a suitcase prop for steampunk, but very occasionally I use it for wet conditions where I don't want carry the E-M1/G85.
I have 4 cameras that I've used in the past and still shoot with from time to time:
- Olympus C-2100UZ (10,562 pictures in my albums, bought in April 2002). I haven't got many keepers from this camera recently, and it may graduate to full shelf camera.
- Olympus E-1 (8,753 pictures in my albums, bought December 2004). I take it out once in awhile to remember the good times shooting with the camera.
- Olympus E-3 (7,017 pictures in my albums, bought 2008). I don't have as much emotional attachment to the E-3 compared to the E-1 or E-5, so it is now a shelf camera.
- Olympus E-5 (4,744 pictures in my albums, bought in 2011). With the purchase of the E-M1, I find I take out the E-5 less and less, since the E-M1 can shoot the 50-200mm almost as well as the E-5.
And then there are the 9 cameras that have been sold, given away, or broken:
- Olympus E-510 (1,701 pictures in my albums, used 2007-2009). I always thought the pictures were on the cold side and I had to do more post processing on them. I sold the E-510.
- Olympus SP-550UZ (660 pictures in my albums, used 2007-2010). I bought this to get the superzoom with IS I had in the C-2100UZ in a pocket/jacked size. I always hated slow focusing with the SP-550UZ. I gave it away after I got the Stylus-1, which is a much better camera in all respects.
- Canon S1 (267 pictures in my albums, used 2006-2007 until it fell off of a table and broke the battery cover). I disliked the color balance on this camera.
- Olympus C-8080WZ (171 pictures in my albums, used 2007-2009). I never liked the images from this camera due to color balance, and eventually sold it.
- Olympus D-40Z (182 pictures, used 2004-2005). I gave this camera away after it destroyed 2 smart media cards.
- Fujifilm F30 (104 pictures in my albums, used 2006-2007). I never liked the pictures from this camera and gave it away.
- Olympus VG-120 (171 pictures in my albums, used 2011-2013). I bought it refurbished for a vacation, and I was under-impressed with it and gave it away once I got the Stylus-1 to be the small pocket/jacket camera.
- Samsung S2 cell phone camera (59 pictures in my albums, used 2012-2015 until I upgraded to the Samsung S5 cell phone).
- I have several tablets with phones, but I have never used the tablet camera to take pictures with. I have used one of the tablets to shoot the Stylus-1/TG-860 radio controlled pictures.
- Olympus AIR A01. This was the first radio controlled camera I got, and the only one that I bought and eventually returned. I wrote up a long diatribe about the shortcomings of this camera.
