I've managed to make something very similar (3d printed) but I'm a bit stuck on the optics, at the moment I'm using a macro (bi convex) lens salvaged from a clip on phone lens and whist it gives a very similar magnification from a similar distance as the original, the edges of the image are slightly out of focus. It's usable but I'd Ideally like the whole image to be in focus.
I'm fairly certain the part being sold is sourced from off shelf parts, but I'm unable to identify what it could be. Here's a closer photo (it's the one on the right).
The barrel is around 14 or 15mm in diameter and the very top section is knurled, does this look familiar to anyone?
Brother and what clip lens do you use , ar e you use 18x lens .
