I own a Samsung NX300 and i need a TTL flashgun for it. I have searched the internet for hours and i can't find a single one to buy.
Metz 26 AF-1 for Samsung is no longer available as far as i can see.
Metz 44 AF-1 for Samsung is no longer available as far as i can see.
Does anybody know where i might be able to find one, or any other make too (must be TTL).
I managed to find 1 or 2 sources for Samsung made flashguns but they are huge in price (almost £500), and i don't want to pay that just so i can have a flashgun for a camera that's a few years old now.
Thanks for any advice.
Ebay.
There are a few SEF15 and 20 (20 seems good, and small) and there are Metz ones, or bigger Samsungs from time to time, a month ago I saw a few nice ones (Metz 44 and the similar NX ones, SEF42?) go for small amounts of money.
Great ty. I found a 20 on ebay - do you know if it would work on a NX300? Samsung's website only says NX200.
Thanks again
This 15 is in Manchester right now!

I am not sure, someone with better knowledge than mine should intervene here, I was considering a SEF20 for my NX1/NX500 but found a Metz 26 and went that way. I like the size and design of the SEF20 though, and it will much nice with the NX300.
There are 4 SEF20 right now on ebay, I have bought from this seller, were alright, and they mentioned your camera in the listing, just mail them.

I would consider the 20 the least acceptable for NX300 (I do not know your use) and equal to the Metz 26 and the SEF42 equal to the Metz 44.
I currently have the Metz 26 (slightly used) and the SEF42 (brand new), haven't done much with them, both seem ok. A friend is going to bring me a Metz 44 on a couple of months, and I will test against the Samsung, I expect very similar output.
I mainly take photos of my child around the home or running in her races. I originally had my NX300 and then bought and started using a Canon 750d DSLR (i sold it 2 days ago). The focusing accuracy of the Canon was never quite there. The tones in Lightroom always seemed biased towards the darks, and the photos never quite looked right to me. So I've gone back to my Samsung NX300m. I've taken a few photos and just feel so relieved to have pin sharp focusing again. My photography has moved on since it was main camera. I've now learnt bounce & off camera flash and would never go back direct pop up flash, which is all I've got for the NX300m atm. That's why i begun the search for a speedlight for it. If i get one I'd then probably try and fit a MagMod Sphere to it or a flashbender. It's such a shame Samsung never became successful in the market as their cameras were actually very good. I think they are pulling out of the market too now.
Thanks for the info btw.
Well done! Sure they are very good, NX300 is brilliant for pictures, and still relevant.
The 20 will be enough for small rooms and small-ish places, for very large venues/rooms/places, even the SEF42 or Metz 44 wouldn't be enough I guess.
Maybe you should try a hot shoe cable, I am not sure if you can find a cheaper one than this, I have one, it does the job!

This Magmod seems interesting, never heard of it before, but is quite heavy for such a device and kind of expensive (almost as much as my Metz 26!), I will have it in mind thought.
For know I just have a cheap thing, like the ones we put in video lights to soften them (soft boxes), it is more directional (like a hyper cardioid microphone), and fires only straight/front (while the sphere is omnidirectional). Something like this
