It's been a hard year or so, coming here to lurk. Hardly a useful bit of wheat among bushels of chafe. Thanks Phil. With the announcement of the 300D, I had fairly well given up hope for this board. Like the Phoenix, it appears as if it might arise from the ashes afterall.

I have a 1V but waiting for the next month to see if a new 1D is being released. Either get the new or just go for the 1D.

Get out your tripod, use "M" mode on your 1D, and get the free
panotools software and the inexpensive ptassembler front-end
interface by Max Lyons.

You can assemble some huge panoramic images this way while you wait
for the price of FF high-pixel-count cameras to come down a bit.
