I have a number of dumb adapters that I use for old film era lenses with manual focus and manual aperture rings.  Also smart adapters for digital lenses with electronic AF and aperture.

All of my adapters work equally well on my Panasonic GM1 and Olympus EM1, although mounting old Four Thirds DSLR lenses on MFT mirrorless bodies requires either very clever adapter software (like the Metabones EF to MFT adapter) or a body with on sensor PDAF.  My EM1 has on sensor PDAF.

You need to be careful with lenses like Nikons that have a mechanical linkage between the body and the lens, since the adapter has to provide this somehow.

All MFT bodies ought to work with all adapters with a MFT rear end.  However you might find that some either foul something on the front of the body or stick out below the bottom of the body.  Should be a rare problem unless you are buying a cheap dumb adapter for an exotic mount.

Cheap Chinese dumb adapters are just that.  Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.  I have had most success with K & H Concept adapters.
