bamboo has been so far for me the hardest subject to photograph.

I just can't get the feel of when I am standing in a grove translated to an image. Here is my best attempt, with a slide-projection lens Will-Wetzlar 85mm f2.8 (wide open, of course)

ISO 200, 1/40sec on Olympus E-P5

This is nice, but I'm not sure you have quite nailed the composition. Very good colour and sharpness/DoF.

I agree: for me the composition is out too. There is too much forward bokeh on the right hand side and the sharp bit splits the image in the middle. Damn it; I walked around that stupid bamboo grove for some time now, on 3 occasions, and still can't pull off an image that I am totally pleased with. Thank you for pointing out what I knew all along and now I know it's not just me.

There are some subjects that you just have to keep working on for years, until you are finally satisfied.
