Lol, well, not sure what there is to disagree with. This was my experience. And it was dreadful. And implying loose lens mounts is a user error is pretty funny! Suspect we simply have different levels of standards which is fine. Mine is high - not too high - but it has to be equal to that of Nikon or Canon or Fujinon or Olympus. And, unfortunately, Samsung wasn't and was actually far below the others.
Anyway, all manufacturers have there issues and struggles. But its likely Samsung had too many. There's reasons why they're not in the biz anymore. It wasn't because they lacked technical performance. It wasn't that they had crazy high prices. We can only use our imaginations as to why they exited but something made it unprofitable.
Even if the NX-1 was perfect it would still be a questionable decision to buy into a system that is dead IMO.
Good day, sir.
You either had a bad experience and have taken on a personal agenda against all NX gear OR you just like trolling.
I had 3 NX bodies, multiple lenses over the years and none of them failed on me. If anything I was a Nikon shooter myself and Samsung at the time provided a much better value for money offerings so I switched. Even with your "dead system" reference, zero regrets and will happily buy another NX camera any day.
I got to use the D500 and D5500 and they are both great cameras in their own right but bagging a whole brand just because you *may* or may not had a bad experience is a bit silly.
And again, this was my experience. Not trolling as there's nothing to gain. Glad you had good luck with Samsung - I had very bad luck.
To the final point IMO it certainly isn't wise to invest into something that's been out of production for ~ 2 years, has no growth options, and will become harder and harder to support over time.
"Investment" is relative,
first of all, I "invested" in NX, because I earn money, and they are the most capable of doing what I want more, so for the money I "invested", it was the best move for me.
Then,
if by "investment" you mean, happy photo and video taking time with joy and happiness, then NX, again is one of the best investments right now, as it exceeds most cameras in ergonomics, battery life (have you tried to film a whole ceremony event with a a6500?), no overheating (so, less stress), cheap media, less hard drive space (in video that is important), the right lenses, the Samsung colors (much better than Sony ones, and older Pana ones) and all the things we are talking about in this forum.
The NX500 is out almost less than 2 years, and as we have seen in this forum Samsung still services cameras in the most parts of this world, so stating lies, for facts, isn't an appropriate way to make a point.
I said it before, but it seems you do not follow the forum, check all the people that changed system a year or more ago, in the quest to find something similar, they have changed 2 or more cameras, and in the process, more than one other system.
Their loss was greater, both in money, time and productivity, and most are still in search of this amazing camera, and most are still waiting for the equivalent Canon, or Sony, or Fuji camera that will come, eventually, but after buying a6000/a6300/a6500 for a total cost of 5000$, for body only.
"Investment" is a word, and words have deeper meaning, that you should be able to "decipher", or they are just meaningless symbols.
e.g How many years do you want to keep your cameras? Panasonic has 3-4 new models since last year, Sony had 2 new models in 7 months time, Canon is outputting M cameras like crazy, I have my NX for 2 years now, and I am going strong.. It isn't the 70's dude, it is 2017, nothing lasts for more than 2 years time, look at the 15.000$ video cameras, in 2 years time a 5000$ one is better!
