Perhaps I can come back to your questions when I'm not using my tablet!

In brief, normal ISOs are analog, extended (boosted etc) ISOs are digitally achieved. When done well, this can provide better IQ than just over/under exposing and then adjusting in PP. Many (generally trolls) will dispute this for dozens of threads and hundreds of posts.

For example, my E-M1s do this well; my E-30 doesn't.

Of course, it is all more complex than this!

PS: DxO 'results' should be viewed with considerable caution ... 😋
