I have seen one other report of something similar, which worried me at the time, as I have been used to the Panasonic way of doing upgrades.

Advice from Olympus to the user here was to use OV3, rather than the updater - anyone tried this? I've only used the Olympus updater once, so far, to update the camera to 1.1. After reading the thread above, I was worried enough to update my 100-400 on the GH4, which I haven't got round to selling yet.

I have updated my E-M1 and a couple of Olympus lenses viaOV3 and via the updater.

I notice that OV3 uses the updater to do the updates, so rally the two methods are the same.

I also have a GX7; I update the Panasonic lenses through the GX7 and I've updated one Olympus lens by the same method.

I prefer the Panasonic update method; I think it's more reliable.
