Will be getting a G85 next week,

Excellent choice!

and, although the menus do seem a bit more balanced than they are on my Olympus EM1 and OM5ll, I expect that I'll need lots of help .

G85 is my first Panasonic camera (and first date with MFT system). I find the menu structure reasonable. Granted, the initial setup takes some time, but once that is done, I enjoy the hard and soft Fn keys, in conjunction with the main dials and buttons, without having to dive into the menu tabs.

On the Olympus cameras, I found the Gary Friedman's online books and Darrel Young's book published by Rocky Nook fairly useless, while others, like David Busch's were the usual rehash of basic photography and the camera manual.

Any suggestions?

(1) Download the G85 Advanced Manual. (The included booket is the Basic Manual.)

(2) Walk through the online G85 Training Guide:

(3) Watch the short G85 use-case tutorial videos on the Panasonic channel:

Whereas the Advanced Manual (1) is exhaustive, I find the online materials (2 & 3) better for learning.

Thank you!
