I've kind of gotten down to an every-other-week pace here, because making these things is so time-consuming. Fortunately for me, the time that is consumed is mainly the computer's but it stll takes a lot of mine, too. These are the results of a single day's shooting -- about 8000 images. They were munched by the computer into about 1700 renderings, and today I picked the first group to work on in Ps. I will probably produce 30 or 40 finished images out of this set, which had the wind shear that I look for, but, sadly, find only infrequently.

All with an a7RII and a Leica 90mm f/2 Apo-Summicron-M ASPH.

This is my favorite so far from this series. The result of the cross currents is captivating.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your new camera.

That's a nice photo to start with, and we'll look forward to more photos down the road : )

Spectacular! Especially the last two because of the perspective of the memorial and the new tower. Are those holes/fountains in the same spot as the original towers? I was up in the originals twice, don't know if I will ever make it back to visit the memorial. But thanks for the shots.

Wow Gabriel that last image is fantastic. And handheld at 600mm is rather impressive.

Really great composition and timing, had a inquisitive look on his face for sure.

Thanks. The twin pools in the memorial are located in the footprints of the original twin towers. The trade center has transformed quite a bit in the last few years after it seemed like a permanently fenced off area for the longest time.

While walking in the park with my wife today, we saw two birds.

The first bird was day dreaming and did not notice us.

Then there jumped out the second bird and said to us loudly: I am the bird you want to photograph.

I especially liked this shot, as the inclusion of the environment intensifies the attitude.
Its a composite isnt it?
Yes....

I think Abrak's image is much better. The first thing I notice with that image is the light beaming through in more than one direction...

Well done, Gabriel.

You're using the a-mount version of this lens that has no lens stabilization so how good is the Sony IBIS when using this lens? It's my understanding that AF is best in the a-mount version but you loose the addition of lens stabilization. How good is the IBIS alone?

Fun at 560mm :)

They are remarkably sharp at that FL and handheld. I guess the stabilization in the A7rii must have really helped.

Great timing too!

Cheers

Shutter speeds in the EXIF are all wrong, btw. All taken at Bulb - all approx two minutes.

Nice Jim! These three are awesome! Amazing that it takes so many images to capture and achieve that effect. Definitely very interesting and different. A testament also to the shutter durability of the Sony cameras.

Love the waterfall shot! The contrast of the green looks great.
